Chicken Run Customisations

This page shows in more detail some of the extra features you can order with your chicken run.

Coop Table

This platform is designed to raise your coop, providing extra space and shelter for your chickens underneath. The added height and smooth surface also makes egg collection and cleaning much easier. For example, an Eglu* can simply be swivelled to one side to remove the litter tray.
Comes complete with a chicken-friendly access ramp, which can be easily removed for cleaning.
Approximate dimensions are: 120cm wide, 100cm deep, 60 cm high (these dimensions were chosen to fit most Aviaries4u runs).
The table is sturdy, and can easily support the weight of a standard Eglu*-style chicken coop, in fact it comfortably supports a thirteen stone adult!

This product is available via mail order and comes flat-packed with easy assembly instructions (pre-drilled holes etc).
Please note the postage for this 21kg item is charged at cost - we've researched various couriers to keep this as low as possible.
If you order as part of an assembled aviary package, we'll of course bring it with us and put it together with your main run for no extra charge.

Sloped Translucent Roof

We can raise your translucent roof on one side slightly to cause water to run off in a particular direction. For example, away from your patio etc.

Guttering

Guttering can be fitted, to allow a standard 2" downpipe to be fitted for delivery into a water butt or drain.

Large Access Hatch

For runs with a coop larger than a door (for example, an Eglu* Cube) we can fit a large, lockable access hatch to allow the coop to be removed without having to be disassembled. This is handy for cleaning.

Chicken Access Hatch

Please ask us if you would like a small access hatch fitted to allow your chickens to get in and out of the run to free-range without you leaving the door open.

Egg Hatch

A lockable egg port can be fitted to make collecting your morning eggs more convenient. Please note, this will depend on the style of your coop.

Mesh Skirt

For runs that are to be placed on earth, we can fit a weld-mesh skirt on any sides required, to prevent foxes from tunnelling in (most people agree that foxes tunnel at the base of a wall, which a skirt would stop).

Mesh Floor

For runs that are to be placed on earth, where a skirt is not practical, a full weld-mesh floor can be fitted.

Perches

Part of the advantage of a walk-in run is the vertical space it provides your chickens, so we definitely recommend adding some perches.
So, if you would like us to supply a perch or two, please let us know. Some of our clients prefer free-standing ones, that can be moved around, and others prefer ones fixed to the run wall.
If you're unsure of the best placement, we can also provide the timber for you to fit the perch yourself once your chickens move in.

Shelf

Not the most exciting of accessories, but a shelf high up out of the reach of chickens in your run can be very handy!
Use it to store grit, sealed food / treat containers, medicine, cleaning equipment etc.

Inner Door Latch

Prevent crafty chickens from escaping while you are inside the run!
Due to customer feedback, we are pleased to announce this feature is now provided as standard on all of our chicken runs.
